Lorice Hallal

d. March 7, 2024

Cumberland – Lorice (Samra) Hallal, 92, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J.

Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Amir) Samra.

Lorice resided in Pawtucket before moving to Cumberland twenty-five years ago.

She was a dental assistant for her brother, Dr.

Joseph Samra, until retiring and was previously co-owner, with her late husband, of Luigi’s Pizza, South Attleboro for twenty-five years.

Lorice was a lifelong active member of St.

Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church.

She was a member of the Ladies Society, served on several committees and helped cooking for various church functions.

She enjoyed puzzles, playing cards and cooking.

But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Lorice exemplified that a person’s success is not measured by the amount of money they have, the size of their home, nor the car they drive.

Her gift to all of us was how kind, caring and happy she always was.

She leaves a daughter, Robin M. (late Peter) Soderlund of Cumberland; a son, Edward J. (Paula) Hallal, Jr. of Islip, NY; siblings, Elaine (late Russell) Wilbur of Cumberland, Dr.

Joseph (Marlene) Samra of Cumberland and Barbara Samra of Newport and beloved friend, Sandra Conca of Newport; grandchildren, Laura (Jason), Karl (Teresa), Evan, Jessica and Lauren (David); great-grandchildren, Austin, Alexis, Aiden, Alexander, Zoe, Jackson, Adrian and one more on the way.

She also leaves several loving nieces and nephews.

VISITATION will begin on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in St.

Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, 249 High St., Pawtucket, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Armistice Blvd., Pawtucket.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to St.

Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, (under fund select: Lorice Hallal-Memorials).

Arrangements are entrusted to William W.
