Lois T. (McCaughey) Kuhn, 88 died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 12, 2024, in Lincoln, RI.
Born on November 16, 1935, in Pawtucket, RI, she was the beloved daughter of the late Louis F. and Gertrude (Cahalan) McCaughey.
She and her family were members of St.
She studied business in high school and was an excellent student.
She met her husband, Robert Quinlan, while still a teenager and they married when she was 18 years old.
They went on to have four children by the time she was 25 years old.
Later, she started her professional career.
She became the first female advertising salesperson at the Pawtucket Times.
She was very proud of her accomplishments, becoming the top sales performer for many years.
She loved meeting new people and achieved success with her abilities and relationships with her co-workers and customers.
Her self-esteem soared!
Lois was a mom who loved her children and supported them in their endeavors with sports and activities.
Her passions were cruising, reading, playing card games with co-workers and later in life Mah Jongg and bingo.
She remembers fondly her travels with her second husband, Bill Kruel motoring on the “Lois K” to Jamestown.
Most of all she enjoyed time with her children providing advice, counseling, and understanding.
She took great joy in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and develop.
She had a life full of joy, challenges, laughter, and love.
She will be dearly missed and remembered for that look of excitement and happiness on her face when we walked into a room to see her.
She is survived by her four children, John Quinlan of Lincoln, RI, Susan Antonio (Raymond) of Bristol, RI.
Thomas Quinlan of Norton, MA, and David (Kathy) Quinlan of Mansfield, MA.
She is also survived by ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Mary-Lou Breault of Warwick, RI and Regina McCaughey Silvia of Little Compton, RI.
She was preceded in death by sister, Phillis McCaughey, her brother, James McCaughey and more recently her sister, Janice Gagnon.
Relatives are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 17th at 11 a.m. in St.
Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery will be private.
