It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Ruth (Gerlach) Guest, of North Providence, RI, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by her greatest love, her family, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the age of 80 after a very brief illness.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Barbara I. Bense, Ralph Gerlach and her sister, Marcia Gaskell.
Linda was employed by the State of Rhode Island, working at RIC as well as the Division of Taxation before her retirement in 2006.
Linda put her family, her greatest joy in life, above everything else, creating memories and traditions that will last a lifetime, never to be forgotten and continuing for many years to come.
Linda was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Walter Guest, III of North Providence, RI, her daughter, Amy Guest Andrade and her husband Mario of Warren, RI, a son, Walter Guest, IV and his wife, Kristine, of Smithfield, RI, a son, Christopher David Guest of North Providence, RI, as well as her greatest treasures, two grandchildren, Kathyrn Manning Guest and Walter Guest, V who referred to her as Manya. She also leaves brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter N. Guest and his wife, Linda, Dorothy Elliot and her partner, Tom Caulfield, and Marion and Mats Lindblom, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will never be forgotten. She was kind and generous beyond words. She will be sadly missed and will live on in all the wonderful memories, big or small, that she made for our family. Linda was the true heart of our home. Although she and Walter went on many vacations together, her greatest joy was spending time with and creating memories and traditions with her family. Her beautiful spirit will live in our hearts forever.
