Pawtucket - Leona "Lynn" (Johnson) Roy, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard E. Roy. Born in Plymouth Township, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Paul and Leona (Callahan) Johnson.
Lynn served in the United States Army and was a WAC during the Korean War, and went on to work for the Pawtucket School Lunch Program at Jenks Junior High School for many years until her retirement. Lynn loved to shop, party, and dance with her friends, who kept her young, and for many years she enjoyed camping at Sutton Falls Campground in Sutton, Massachusetts. Lynn wanted to make sure that everyone felt included, loved, and had something to eat. Lynn will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she has touched over the past ninety-three years.
Lynn leaves two grandchildren, Amy M. Esposito and her husband, Daniel, of Burrillville, RI, and Daniel P. Harvey and Meriem, of West Warwick; a sister, Lucille Keating, in Pennsylvania; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Nancy L. Harvey and the sister of the late Robert Johnson.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 14th, at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church of St. John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. VISITATION will be held on Tuesday, January 13th, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. www.TrippFuneralHome.com
