Leo V. Heaney

Heaney, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2014.

He was the beloved husband of the late Helen M. (Janusz) Heaney and the former husband of Beatrice B. (Conroy) Sylvestre of Warwick.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Joseph A. and Mary (Nealin) Heaney, he resided in Lincoln and Warwick before moving to Bedford, NH seven years ago.

Leo was a World War II U.S.

He was an agent for the IRS for thirty years until retiring, and then worked as a courier for Adler, Pollock & Sheehan, Providence.

An outdoors enthusiast, he loved camping, sailing, canoeing, hiking and backyard bird life.

He enjoyed time spent at the South County Rhode Island Beaches, and The Lakes Region and White Mountains of New Hampshire.

He was devoted to his brothers, children and grandchildren.

He leaves a daughter, Marianne H.

Philbrick and her husband, Todd of Bedford, NH and a son, Joseph L.

Heaney and his wife, Amy of Cumberland.

He was the brother of Edwin Heaney of Warwick and the late Rev.

Joseph, Thomas, William and Paul Heaney.

He was a loving “Papa” to his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Rachel, Liam and Aidan.

VISITATION will begin Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the Church of St.

Leo the Great, 697 Central Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mt.
