Lawrence A. Souza

Providence – Lawrence “Sonny” A. Souza, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2020. He was the beloved husband of the late Judith M. (Tinkham) Souza. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Martins) Souza. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Sonny grew up in the Fox Point area of Providence and attended Mount Pleasant High School. In his 50s he became an avid bowler, which was a passion that he shared with his late wife and bowled at East Providence Lanes well into his 80s. He enjoyed visits from his grandchildren and loved dogs. He is survived by seven children, Lynda Souza of Coventry, Laurie Vandal of East Providence, Charlene Pelski of Johnston, Nancy McGlynn of Florida, Mark Souza of East Providence, Debbie Robishaw of Virginia and Carol Souza of West Virginia, seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
