Pawtucket – Laurel M. (Fortin) Day, 75, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at her home.
Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick A. and Violet (Martell) Fortin.
Laurel worked as a waitress for many years at both Kip’s Restaurant, Pawtucket, and the Holiday Inn in Attleboro.
For the past thirteen years, Laurel was as a certified nursing assistant at area nursing homes.
She was a longtime volunteer for the Pawtucket/CF EMA, and she recently celebrated, thirty years of sobriety with AA.
In her free time, Laurel enjoyed visits to Foxwoods Resort Casino with her daughter to play Bingo and listening to sermons by Joel Osteen.
She will be lovingly remembered by all her family and dear friends.
Laurel leaves three daughters, Sandra T.
Day and her significant other, Earl Spano, Jr. of North Providence, Kimberly A.
Ottaviano and her husband, Richard, of Pawtucket and Karen J.
Vashey and her husband, Edward, in Florida; a brother, Timothy P.
Fortin and his wife, Deborah, of Pawtucket; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Clifford Fortin.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 20th at Noon at St.
Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted.
