L. Joan Bouris

Pawtucket – L. Joan (Fortin) Bouris, 80, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013. She was the wife of the late Stephen Bouris for thirty-five years. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Lillian Fortin and the granddaughter of the late Aldemore and Celia (Van Dale) Fortin. Joan had worked for the State School Lunch Program for 15 years. She loved gardening, knitting and reading. She leaves five children, Alana Burke of Ladson, SC, Nicholas Bouris and his wife, Karen of Cranston, Carol Rothemich and her husband, Steven of North Scituate, Heidi Bouris of Pawtucket and Jason Bouris and his wife, Karen of Brooklyn, CT. She also leaves four loving grandchildren, Brendan Burke, Heather Burke-Smith, Damian and Alexandra Rothemich. VISITATION will begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 97 Walcott St., Pawtucket, followed by Services at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
