Cranston – Kenneth I.
Read, 96, of Cranston and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mary C. (Lanois) Read.
Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Thomas I.
B. and Sarah A. (Smith) Read.
Ken, a retired lace weaver had resided in Pawtucket for many years before moving to Cranston in July of 2022.
He was a member of the Woodridge Congregational Church, Cranston.
Ken loved watching golf and baseball and also enjoyed word search and making puzzles.
But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He leaves two daughters, Deborah A.
DiChiara and her late husband, Frank, of Cranston, and Donna M.
Fontaine of Rumford; a sister, Edith Read of Cumberland; four grandchildren, Brian Fontaine and his wife, Amy, of Rehoboth, Dawn Travers of Pawtucket, Jessica Tate and her wife, Bonnie, of Cranston, and Jason Tate of West Warwick; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Dorothy Salois and Irene Baptista.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 10 a.m. in Woodridge Congregational Church, 546 Budlong Road, Cranston.
Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Woodridge Congregational Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
