Pawtucket – Kenneth R. LaFountaine, 93, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, July 10, 2026. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores “Del” T. (Carvalho) LaFountaine, who passed in 1995. Born in North Providence, he was the son of the late Albert and Irene (McKeon) LaFountaine.

Ken was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and went on to work as a railroad conductor with forty years of service. He served as the chaplain of the following organizations, VFW Gatchell Post #306, Korean War Veteran Chapter #1, Amvets Post #33, Pawtucket Veterans Council, National Association of Retired and Veteran Railroad Employees and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Thomas Council and the Attleboro Lodge of Elks Post #1014.

Kenneth LaFountaine will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind, generous, and giving man whose greatest joy was his family. He touched many lives through his compassion, warm heart, and willingness to help others whenever he could.

Kenneth had a deep love for the outdoors, especially camping, where he created countless cherished memories with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing cards, following and watching all kinds of sports, and spending quality time with the people he loved most.

His generosity extended far beyond his family. Kenneth was always willing to support others through donations and acts of kindness, making a lasting difference in his community. His caring spirit and selflessness will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Though he will be deeply missed, Kenneth’s legacy of love, generosity, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Ken is survived by a son, Kenneth L. LaFountaine; two daughters, Karen Nordquist and her husband Kevin and Darlene Bibby and her husband Mike; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was the father of the late Deborah LaFountaine, David LaFountaine and Karlene LaFountaine.

The FUNERAL will be held on Thursday, July 16th at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery. 

VISITATION will be held on Wednesday, July 15th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Maryknoll Missions, C/O the MaryknollFathers and Brothers, P.O. Box 302, Maryknoll, NY 10545would be appreciated.
