Pawtucket – Kenneth “Mr. Ken” Furtado, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 20, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Alice (Alkern) Furtado for fifty-six years. Born in Seekonk, a son of the late Joseph and Ethel (Lawrence) Furtado, he resided in Pawtucket most of his life. Ken served in the U.S. Army Reserves for twenty-five years. He was currently the manager of the Ann & Hope Garden Shop, Seekonk, a position he has held over forty years. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Betty Ann Dion and her partner, Michael Flye of Cumberland; a sister, Dorothy Mahanor of Middleboro, Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Susan M. Furtado and the brother of the late Joseph Furtado. His funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland.
