Pawtucket – Kenneth A Brown, 96, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Janina “Jen” (Borek) Brown for nearly 63 years. He was the oldest son of the late Alexander Jr and Lillian (Bailey) Brown and resided in Pawtucket all of his life. Ken was a WWII US Navy veteran of the European Theater amphibious invasion of Sicily in 1943 (aboard LST 381), the Normandy D-Day invasion in 1944 (aboard LST 25), as well as Pacific Theater amphibious operations in Burma & Bay of Bengal in late 1944 and Okinawa (aboard LST 1087) in 1945. He was also a US Army veteran (during the Korean War). Ken was a Certified Flight Instructor for over 50 years, was a Founding Charter Member of the RI Hanger of Quiet Birdmen, RI Pilots Assn. Airman of the year 1979, Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, 2005, Inducted RI Aviation Hall of Fame 2009.
