June "June Bug" E. Alix

December 6, 1929 — February 13, 2019

Pawtucket – June “June Bug” E. (Smiley) Alix, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.

She was the beloved wife of the late Albert W.

A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Blanche (Goodwin) Smiley.

June worked for the State of Rhode Island as a claim’s examiner in the Department of Employment Security for many years until her retirement.

She was a former member of the Darlington Congregational Church, Pawtucket.

June was an avid walker and enjoyed walking at the Emerald Square Mall in North Attleboro and throughout her neighborhood in Pawtucket.

She also enjoyed traveling, going to dinner with family and friends, and attending Las Vegas shows.

Above all, June was devoted to her family.

Her kindness and generosity will always be cherished by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

June leaves three children, Albert W.

Alix, Jr. and his wife, Liz, of Pawtucket, Karen Alix Grant and her husband, David, of Lincoln and Gary S.

Alix and his wife, Kim, of Smithfield; six grandchildren, Kelly Alix-Baron, Brooke Alix, Alison Alix, Megan Alix, Craig Alix and Andrew Grant; a brother, Ronald Smiley and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was the sister of the late Bruce Smiley and Phil Smiley and the longtime companion of the late Roger Bouvier of Pawtucket.

Her funeral will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.

VISITATION will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
