Pawtucket – Joseph “Obie” S.
O’Brien, 90, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret M. (Brett) O’Brien for sixty-eight years.
A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late John and Christina (Rock) O’Brien.
Joseph was a World War II U.
Navy veteran and a member of the Major Walter G.
Gatchell VFW Post No. 306.
He retired from FRAM and was previously a salesman for the Union Wadding Company.
He was a longtime communicant and collector at St.
Joseph Church and a former member of the Pawtucket Lodge of Elks.
Joseph was an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoyed golfing, telling stories and jokes.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Colleen O.
Kitchin of Sterling, CT and Margaret M.
Lussier and her husband, John of Pawtucket; three granddaughters, Jessica Lussier, Brittany Kitchin and Mariah Lussier; a sister, Patricia Pratte of Fountain Valley, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Alice Selilo, John and James O’Brien.
His funeral with Military Honors will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the CHEETHAM Funeral Home, 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St.
Joseph Church, 195 Walcott St.
Interment will follow at Mt.
VISITATION will be Sunday 3 to 6 p.m.
