Pawtucket – Joseph D. Plante, 67, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Betty L. (Ahmed) Plante for 48 years. Born in Attleboro, he was a son of the late Edward R. and Dorothy H. (Bliss) Plante. Joseph was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an avid baseball fan and volunteered for many years as a certified umpire and coach for many area youth baseball leagues. Besides his loving wife, he leaves a son, Neil D. Plante and a daughter, Lynn M. Arrighi and her husband, Todd, all of Pawtucket; three sisters, Pat Fuller and Lorraine Tardif both of Pawtucket and Cynthia Hardy of Concord, NH; a brother, William Plante in Florida and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edward and Donald Plante, Sr. VISITATION will be held on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at CHEETHAM Funeral Home, 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
