Joseph Kim

Providence - Joseph S. Kim, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, 3, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Kyong Ja Kim. Born May 31, 1943, in Seoul, South Korea, he was a son of the late Soon R. and Soon B. Kim. He came to the United States in 1966 and became a U.S. citizen. He was the founder and owner of the first Korean market in Rhode Island. He enjoyed playing golf and dancing with his wife. He was an enthusiastic member of St. Mary Catholic Church choir. Besides his loving wife, Joe leaves his son, Gene, and daughter, Mizi; two brothers and three sisters in South Korea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, March 8, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 538 Broadway, Providence. Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted.
