Joseph Fernandes

The Standard Times – TUESDAY ONLY WITH PHOTOWalpole, MA – Joseph Fernandes, 76, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Adriela (Gomes) Fernandes for 47 years. Born on Ilah Brava, Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Antonio and Candida (Sena) Fernandes. Joe served his country in the United State Army and worked as an industrial engineer for the Acushnet Company for many years. He then became the materials and production manager for the Digital Equipment Corporation until his retirement. Joe was an avid sports fan, and had a deep interest in local and national politics. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, cousins and dear friends. Besides his loving wife, Joe leaves a daughter, Michelle L. Fernandes of Everett, MA; a son, Anthony P. Fernandes and his wife, Nicole of Providence, RI; a sister, Mary Jane Deperino and her husband, Angelo of Seaford, NY; in-laws, Claudio Gomes of East Providence, RI, Rosino and Eugenia Gomes of Warwick, RI, Egas and Debra Gomes...
