Joseph T. Boardman, Iii

Pawtucket – Joseph T. Boardman, III, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2020. He was the beloved husband of the late Norma J. (Michael) Boardman. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Joseph T., Jr. and Mary (Dougherty) Boardman. Mr. Boardman was a member of Durfee High School, Class of 1946, he went on to graduate from Indiana Technical College in 1956, having earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He later worked as an engineering consultant for Maguire Group Consulting Engineers and was RIDOT’s Chief Bridge Inspection and Maintenance Engineer. Mr. Boardman was also a United States Army veteran (Staff Sergeant) of the Korean War. Mr. Boardman was a volunteer instructor for the American Red Cross, Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 15 Pawtucket. He was a lifetime member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and Society of Civil Engineers. In his leisure time, he enjoyed swimming, camping, photography and woodworking.
