Jose A. Raposo

Jose Antero Raposo., 76 of East Providence, died Wednesday at Roger Williams Hospital. He was the husband of Odilia (Barbosa) Raposo and they had been married for 51 years. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Tavares) Raposo. Jose came to the United States in 1968 and settled in Pawtucket.Prior to his retirement he was a mechanic for the Murdock Webbing Company of Central Falls. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Society at St. Anthony Church.Besides his wife he is survived by his sons, Mario Raposo of Johnston and Robert Raposo of Boston; his daughters, Lisa Silveira of Bristol and Helena Morris of Lincoln; a sister, Maria A. Medeiros of Pawtucket; and 9 grandchildren, Victoria, Tyler, Brooke, Austin, Jake, Nicholas, Emily, Erika and Nathan.His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the LACHAPELLE FUNERAL HOME, 1012 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian Burial from St. Anthony Church, Lawn Avenue, Pawtucket at 11:00 a.m. His life will be...
