Jose I. Pereira

Pawtucket – José I. Pereira, 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 8, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Rosa E. (Gomes) Pereira for sixty-four years. Born on the island of Faial, Azores, he was the only child of the late Antonio D. and Maria Pereira. Mr. Pereira immigrated to the U.S. in 1970 and settled in Pawtucket where he raised his family. He worked as a machine operator for twenty-five years at American Insulated Wire, Pawtucket, before retiring in 1994. José enjoyed tending to his garden, especially his tomato plants, which he would share with his neighbors and friends. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Joe Pereira and his wife, Denise, of Pawtucket and three grandchildren that he dearly loved, Gregory, Derrick and Zachary Pereira, all of Pawtucket. A Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, Pawtucket, followed by interment in Mount St. Mary Cemetery will be private. VISITATION is respectfully omitted. Memorial donations to HopeHealth...
