Jose J. Lomba

Pawtucket – Jose J. Lomba, 87, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria Manuel (Camilo) Lomba. Born in Brava, Cape Verde Islands, the son of the late Joao Julio and Camila Jose (Baptista) DaLomba, he resided in Providence for forty years until moving to Pawtucket one year ago. Jose was a Merchant Marine with Exxon until retiring in 1980, and enjoyed making crafts for family and friends. He leaves four children, Isaura Pinto of East Providence, Henry Lomba of Palmer, MA, Ann Goncalves of Pawtucket and Mariana Palm of Moosup, CT; two sisters, Clara Correia and Rosa Almeida both of Hazleton, PA; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Joaquin DaLomba, Maria DaLomba and Berta Canto. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, 755 Central Ave. Graveside interment will follow at Mt. St. Mary...
