Jose A. Barbosa

Pawtucket – Jose A. Barbosa, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ana (Moniz) Barbosa for thirty-four years. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of Herminia Simao Barbosa of Cumberland, and the late Manuel Da Costa Simao Barbosa. Jose immigrated to the United States as a young man and settled in Rhode Island with his family. He was a talented, skilled carpenter, who worked for Bristol Builders & Contractors, Inc. in Mansfield, MA. Jose had a strong work ethic and dedicated his life to providing for his wife, children and their home. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two loving children, Ashley and Brandon Barbosa, both of Pawtucket; seven siblings, Sandra Rose, Grace Benevides, Paul, Louie, Nelson, Gilbert and Laz Barbosa; mother-in-law, Maria Moniz of Pawtucket; brothers-in-law, Gus, Fred, Jose, Jorge and Sam Moniz, as well as several nieces and nephews.
