Pawtucket - Jose Manuel Aguiar, 75, was granted eternal peace on March 27, 2020, following a lifelong illness of ALS. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family. Although Joe’s illness made him appear frail, he possessed great strength, determination and perseverance and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. Jose was born on September 30, 1944 and raised in Ponta Delgada, Portugal, before moving to the U.S. with his family and residing in Pawtucket, RI over 40 years ago. Jose was employed as Mechanic for many years preceding his illness at the Cedar Street Sunoco gas station in Pawtucket, RI. In his spare time, he enjoyed the Portuguese Social Club in Pawtucket, horse betting at Twin River, and spending time with his family and friends over great Portuguese food and drinks.
