John Linus Tobin

Seekonk – John Linus Tobin, 83, of Seekonk and Vilano Beach, Florida, passed away at home on Thursday, October 27, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Jane F. (McLane) Tobin. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Thomas F. and Mary (Kearney) Tobin, he resided in Seekonk for the past 55 years. John was a 1953 graduate of Providence College. He served in the U.S. Navy for over 30 years before retiring as a Commander, and was a member of the U.S.S. Salem Association. He was also a teacher at the Hugh B. Bain Junior High School, Cranston for many years. John served on various committees in the Town of Seekonk and was Chairman of the Seekonk Zoning Board of Appeals for many years. He was a communicant and active parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Seekonk. He leaves his children, Kathleen M. Tobin-Henry and her husband Michael of West Warwick, Jack L.
