John J. Stanton

Pawtucket – John J. Stanton, 92, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Wingate at Blackstone Blvd., Providence. He was the loving husband of Barbara V. (Vigeant) Stanton. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Edith (Riley) Stanton. John was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. A graduate of Bryant College, he received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Business Education. From Rhode Island College he received a Master of Education and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study. John was Chairman of the Business Department and Principal of the Evening School at Tolman High School, Pawtucket when he retired in 1990. Besides his wife, he leaves his sisters, Eileen Pietraszka and Maryellen Stanton both of Bristol and nieces and nephews. Funeral and burial will be private.
