Sienko, 83, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 20, 2019.
He was the beloved husband of Mary M. (Grimes) Sienko for sixty-three years.
A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was the son of the late John and Joan (Chmura) Sienko.
John was a United States Army veteran.
He was a 1956 graduate of Emerson College, Boston and received his master’s degree in Education in 1962 from Rhode Island College.
John was an educator for thirty-two years before retiring as the Principal of the former Allen Ave.
School, North Attleboro.
He was a lifelong Patriots fan and a former Blackstone Valley CYO Basketball Coach at the former Sacred Heart Church, Pawtucket.
He was also the “voice of the Red Rocketeers” North Attleboro High School Basketball team.
John was a former secretary of the Pawtucket Personnel Board and a founding member of the Prognosticators of Rhode Island.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, J.
David Sienko and his wife, Jeanne Wolf of Warwick; a daughter, Sharon A.
Burton and her husband, William Burton of Melrose, MA and four grandchildren, Benjamin J.
Sienko and his wife, Audrey, Jacob P.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 26th at 11 a.m. at St.
Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted.
