John W. Naismith, Sr.

East Providence – John “Sonny” W. Naismith, Sr., 77, of Rumford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann C. (Grzenda) Naismith. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late John L. & Wilhelmina (Robertson) Naismith. Sonny was the Foreman at Standard Film, Co., East Providence over 40 years until retiring in 2003. He enjoyed fishing and camping, and had honorably served in the US Coast Guard Reserves. Sonny leaves three children, John W. Naismith, Jr., in Arizona, Debra A. McGlinchey of Pawtucket and James A. Naismith of Rumford; a sister, Patricia Emery of Pawtucket; two grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. His funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 197 Walcott St., Pawtucket, Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, North Attleboro.
