Moriarty, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 27, 2016.
He was the beloved husband of Mary Beth (Snow) Moriarty.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late John V. and Mary M. (Gibney) Moriarty, he resided in Attleboro before moving to Rehoboth thirty-two years ago.
John served his country as a Marine; his hometown of Attleboro as a Police Officer and his beloved Town of Rehoboth, as a Selectman and a member of the Conservation Commission and the Planning Board.
Besides his wife, he leaves five children, Sean Moriarty and his fiancée, Malerie Metz, Coleen Bourque and her husband, Glen, Kary Cappelli and her husband, Ed, John Moriarty and his wife, Laura and Bonny Jean Barrows; eight grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
He was the brother of the late Joan Koskie and Peter Moriarty.
His funeral with Military Honors will be held Monday, January 9, 2017 at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt.
Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Ave., Seekonk.
Interment will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
VISITATION will be Sunday, January 8th from 2 to 5 p.m.

Box 228, Rehoboth, MA 02769 in the names of Peter, Joan and John Moriarty.
