John Edward Moran, Sr.

Pawtucket – John E. Moran, Sr., 62, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Lisa A. (DeAndrade) Moran. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of Patricia J. (McElroy) Moran of Pawtucket and the late David J. Moran, Jr. John graduated from Tolman High School in 1980, where he was the star running back of the football team. He continued his education at NEIT, Warwick, where he studied video and radio production, ultimately earning a Master’s degree in athletic administration from Concordia University, Illinois. John worked as a teacher and athletic director for Seekonk Public Schools for the last twenty-five years, following a twenty year career at the Providence Journal. John had three great passions in his life: sports, teaching and his family. He coached an untold numbers of athletes, including his three sons. John was the proud owner of Ocean State Cornhole, and could often be found watching Patriots’ games on his DVR. He taught...
