Pawtucket – John E. Monahan, 87, passed away peacefully at home with his daughter by his side on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Joan R. (O’Brien) Monahan, who passed away this past February. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late John and Ann (Reddington) Monahan. John served in the United States Navy and went on to a career as a real estate agent. He worked for several years at Century 21 and more recently as the proprietor of John E. Monahan Realty. John was a devoted and loving husband and great dad. He was also a doting uncle, and a lover of animals, especially cats, and will be lovingly remembered as a kind, generous man with a great sense of humor. In his younger days, John was also very active in Pawtucket city politics, and enjoyed visits to the Raynham Racetrack to watch the dog races. He leaves a loving daughter, Jane A.
