Kanedes, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 7, 2024.

He was the beloved husband of Tina A. (Angel) Kanedes for nearly fifty years.

Born in Manhattan, New York, he was the son of the late Peter J. and Fay (Stamos) Kanedes.

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, John proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.

He worked for UPS as a Division Manager for twenty-five years prior to retiring in 1996.

He later worked as a substance abuse therapist at Butler Hospital, Providence, for twenty years.

John enjoyed bowling at East Providence Lanes and was a loyal baseball fan of the New York Yankees.

His presence will be dearly missed by his family, especially his grandchildren who meant the world to him.

Besides his devoted wife, he is survived by his loving daughter, Christina Ballou and her husband, Robert, of Attleboro; two adoring grandchildren, Brandon and Briana Ballou; a sister, Anna Bonome and her husband, John, of Arizona; two brothers-in-law, George Angel and his wife, Gerry, of Florida and Rev.

John Angel of New York; an aunt, Pauline Navarro; an uncle, Ted Stamos and his wife, Marie, of New York, and a cousin, Nicholas Navarro.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 97 Walcott St., Pawtucket.

Interment with Military Honors will follow at Rumford Cemetery, Rumford.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the church would be greatly appreciated.
