Seekonk – Dr. John G. Erhardt, 92, a retired educator, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 5, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Rita M. (Gagnon) Mooney-Erhardt and the late Eleanor (Tareila) Erhardt. Born in East Providence, the son of the late John G. and Katherine J. (Kirby) Erhardt, he resided in Riverside before moving to Seekonk over 40 years ago. Dr. Erhardt was a graduate of East Providence High School; 1942 graduate of URI and 1949 graduate of U Mass, where he received his Doctorate in Chemistry. He taught at Salve Regina College and URI. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member and Past-commander of American Legion Post 311, Seekonk. Dr. Erhardt was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5108, Seekonk; Seekonk School Committee and a member of the Seekonk Board of Selectman for 12 years.
