John J. Carty

East Providence – John J. Carty, 38, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 24, 2023. Born in Providence, he was the son of Carolyn (Gravel) Carty of East Providence and the late William E. Carty, III. John graduated from East Providence High School in 2003 and worked as a cook for several local restaurants. He played club football in his youth and was an avid sports fan. John enjoyed fishing, watching the Dallas Cowboys games and spending time with family and friends. Besides his beloved mother, he is survived by three children, Alyssa J. Oliveira, Damien A. Wright and Lillianna E. Rickett; a brother, William E. Carty, IV of Central Falls and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the maternal grandson of the late Robert and Mary (Nolan) Gravel and paternal grandson of the late William, Jr. and Anna (Gallagher) Carty.
