John W. Blake

November 24, 1932 — October 9, 2023

Blake, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of the late Constance “Connie” (Roy) Blake for sixty-three years.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Tully) Blake.

A decorated athlete, John graduated from Tolman High School, Pawtucket, where he participated on their swim team and was the 1950 pole vault state champion.

He was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Seekonk, for many years.

John worked at the former Balfour and the former Robbins, Co., both of Attleboro, where he was a jewelry craftsman.

An avid New England sports fan, John enjoyed watching the games, vacationing in Cape Cod and spending time with his family.

He is survived by three children, Steven D.

Blake and his wife, Deborah, of Hopkinton, Wayne M.

Blake and his wife, Marivette, of Galloway Township, New Jersey and Laurie Hickson and her husband, Thomas, of Hardwick, MA; five grandchildren, Christopher J.

Blake and her husband, Alex Escher, Joshua J.

Hickson; a brother, Robert Blake of Bristol and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was the brother of the late Thomas Blake.

His funeral will be held on Monday, beginning with VISITATION at 9:30 a.m. in WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Coyle Dr., Seekonk.

Interment with his late wife will follow at St.

Stephen Cemetery, Attleboro, MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, 385 Central Ave., Seekonk, MA 02771 would be appreciated.
