John W. Bartlett

John W. Bartlett, 93, of Rumford, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pawtucket, on February 5,1933 and raised in Attleboro, Massachusetts. John was the son of the late George, Sr. and Rachel (Sanderson) Bartlett and the brother of the late George, Jr., Robert, and Francis Bartlett.

At age 17, John joined the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Leyte and USS Saipan and with Helicopter Squadron II, during the Korean War. After receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Navy, he attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Institute in Miami, Florida, where he completed the Airframe and Powerplant Technical Course earning his FAA license. After returning to Rhode Island, he worked at Lippitt Aviation and subsequently spent twenty-five years with Cumberland Engineering.

A devout Catholic, John enjoyed playing golf for many years and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, but most important to him was his family. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who especially enjoyed spending time and doing things with those he loved.

John is survived by his beloved wife of forty-six years, Janet (Rabau) Bartlett; his daughter, Lisa Humphrey; his grandson, John-Eric Humphrey; and his great-granddaughter, Cambria Humphrey.

The funeral will be held on Monday, September 21st at 10 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church of St. John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket.
