Pawtucket – John “Scottie” Allan, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis C. (Dickens) Allan for fifty-six years. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, a son of the late James and Elizabeth (McGarril) Allan, he resided in Pawtucket since 1959. John was employed by the Rich Paper Box Company, Providence for many years until retiring in 2001. He was an avid New England sports fan; enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the DIP Club for many years. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Elizabeth M. Phillips, wife of the late Steven J. Phillips; two grandchildren, Stephanie E. Phillips and Jon R. Phillips all of Pawtucket; a great-grandson, Jordan S. Winters; three sisters, Annie McLaughlin, Agnes Walker both in Scotland and Jessie Letourneau of Seekonk and many nieces and nephews.
