North Providence – Joaquim “Kin Kin” Carlos Lima, 83, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019.
He was the beloved companion of Fatima (Palavra) Lima for fifty-two years, and her loving husband for thirty-nine years.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, he was a son of the late Maria Leightao Lobo and Joao Vieira Lima.
Kin Kin was raised in Dakar, Senegal and migrated to the United States in December of 1979.
He had resided in Pawtucket before moving to North Providence six years ago.
Kin Kin was a famous actor and comedian in Senegal.
Besides his wife, he leaves their three children, Tony C.
Lima, Claudine A Lima, Sonia Lima Teixeira and her husband, Joaozinho, all of Rhode Island; five children from a previous marriage, Marie France Lima and her husband, Anildo and Marcelle P.
Amado and her husband, Jean, all of Rhode Island, Jean Paul Lima of Dakar, Senegal, Humberto E.
Lima and Marie “JouJou” A.
Lima, all of Rhode Island.
He was also the father of Carlos A.
Lima and his wife, Radia, of Marseille, France, Anne Marie Lima of Paris, France, Maria Rocha of Connecticut and Karina Lima of Dakar, Senegal.
He was loved by thirty-two grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and his nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was the brother of the late Manuel J.
His funeral will be held Saturday, April 20th at 9 a.m. from the CHEETHAM FUNERAL HOME, 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.
Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, 359 Daggett Ave., Pawtucket.
VISITATION will be Friday, April 19th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
