Joan E. Trelease

Little Compton – Joan E. (Walsh) Trelease, 71, entered into eternal life on Monday, May 27, 2013. Born in Boston, she was a daughter of the late Dr. James T. and Dr. Phyllis Walsh-Sullivan and the step-daughter of Dan Sullivan. Joan was a United States Navy veteran of both the Vietnam and Iraq Wars. She worked as a Navy Hospice Nurse at the VA Hospice in Washington, DC retiring as a Captain after 20 years of service. She was a 1963 graduate of the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Joan also received her Baccalaureate and Masters from the University of Rhode Island. Joan was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling; gardening and fly fishing. Joan leaves a daughter, Jill M. Trelease and her husband, Eddie Aldrich of Little Compton; two granddaughters, Sarah and Hannah Petrarca; five siblings, Mary Gauthier, Jane Hart, James Walsh, Jr., Lawrence and Phillip Walsh and many nieces and nephews.
