Joan G. Pelletier

Cumberland – Joan G. (Lizotte) Pelletier, 83, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 27, 2023.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward H.

Pelletier for fifty-six years.

Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Henry L. and Aleda M. (Bergeron) Lizotte.

Joan lived most of her life in Pawtucket where she dedicated her life to raising her children and tending to the home.

She worked at the former Douglas Young, Inc. and Wismar Packaging Company, both of Pawtucket, as an assembler.

Joan was a communicant of St.

Teresa Church, Pawtucket, for many years.

An avid lover of music, Joan was a talented tap dancer and danced with the former Theresa Landry Dance Studio, Central Falls.

Aside from traveling, coloring, or watching comedies and action movies, Joan loved being outdoors in nature.

She was an animal lover who loved being surrounded by wildlife and visiting zoos and aquariums.

In her later years, Joan enjoyed strolls through her new neighborhood in Cumberland, where she moved in with her daughter in 2020.

Joan felt welcomed and at peace being surrounded by wonderful neighbors and local wildlife.

She will be fondly remembered and missed by all the lives she has touched.

Joan is survived by two daughters, Cheryl A.

Thompson and her husband, Craig, of Cumberland and Ann M.

Ameen of Pawtucket; five grandchildren, Matthew A.

Thompson, Christopher A.

Thompson, Heather LaScola, Andrew Ameen and Austin Coelho; two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Eleanor LaScola; a sister, Claire Andreoni; two beloved rescue dogs, Barron and Tyson, and many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late David H.

Pelletier and John C.

Pelletier, and sister of the late Jeannette Habershaw, Bernice Pina, Howard, Roger and Milton Lizotte, Irene Hamel, Alice Hebert and Robert Lizotte.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St.

Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment with her late husband will follow at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Pawtucket Animal Shelter, C/O Pawtucket Police Dept., 137 Roosevelt Ave., Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be appreciated.
