Joan L. Parent Gilroy

North Providence – Joan L. (Michaud) Parent Gilroy, 77, of North Providence and Naples, Florida, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 23, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Honorable William G. Gilroy. Born in New Haven, CT, a daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Robertson) Michaud, she resided in Pawtucket before moving to North Providence 27 years ago. Joanie was employed by Dr. Byron Quinn of Pawtucket for many years before retiring. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Glades Country Club and its Women’s Golf League, Naples, FL; Chemawa Golf Course Women’s League, North Attleboro and Heather Hill Country Club Women’s Golf League, Plainville, MA. She had been a volunteer for Home & Hospice Care of RI and the Ronald McDonald House for many years. Joanie is survived by her children, Nancy A. Vecoli-Boichat; Douglas A. Parent and Vanessa E.
