Joan Louise Lawson

Providence – Joan L. (Risser) Lawson, 85, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018.  She was the wife of the late John C. Lawson, Jr.  Born in Danville, IL, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and E. Ruth (Jones) Risser.  Joan worked as a volunteer at Memorial Hospital, formerly of Pawtucket, for fifteen years.  She enjoyed playing games at the casino, especially when her daughter was in town.   She is survived by a son, Thomas A. Lawson, and his wife Cathy, of Rumford; a daughter, Melodie A. Lawson-Jones of Danville, IL; a brother, Jack L. Risser of Texas, and a grandson, Will Marlow of Texas. Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 would be appreciated.
