Joan R. Gray

Pawtucket – Joan Rita (Paradis) Gray, 94, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Edgar H. and Jane A. (Schofield) Paradis. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Gomes and Alden Gray.

Joan was active in the City of Pawtucket for many years and worked in various roles in local government. She was a former parishioner of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Church and St. Cecilia Church in Pawtucket. Joan enjoyed camping and traveling with her family. She loved music and was dedicated to her son, grandchildren, and extended family. Joan will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her beloved son, Jeffrey J. Gomes (Debra) of Mount Laurel, New Jersey; her grandchildren, Sydney, Sierra, and Andrew; and her nieces and nephews, Christopher Dominici, Trina Riccardi, Fay Dakake, and Rhonda Paradis. She was predeceased by her siblings, Jean Dominici and Ronald Paradis.

Her FUNERAL will be held on Monday, August 31 at 9AM from the WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Interment will follow at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.

VISITATION will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30 from 1:00PM-4:00PM.
