Jenna Marie Mitchell

East Providence – Jenna M. (Silvestri) Mitchell, 45, passed on after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Kiel W. Mitchell for twelve loving years. Born in Providence, Jenna resided in Seekonk much of her life and lived in Jersey City, NJ and Berkeley, CA for a time, making East Providence her home with her young family in 2015. Cherished daughter of Joseph J. and Joyce A. (Risho) Silvestri of Seekonk, Jenna was and forever will be adored and loved beyond measure by her parents.

Jenna was a graduate of St. Raphael Academy in Pawtucket where she was highly active in the school’s theatre program. Her dedication to her artistic passions paved the way for her love of musical theatre and fostered the deep and lasting friendships that she has maintained since her time at St. Rays. After completing her undergraduate studies at Rhode Island College, Jenna went on to earn her master’s degree in theatre education from Emerson College in Boston. She began her career in education at the Bradley School in Wakefield, followed by Bradley Hospital in East Providence, and subsequently took on a career at the Wolf School in East Providence as a teacher’s assistant for the past eight years. Jenna passed on the eight-year anniversary of beginning her work at the Wolf School, a community she loved dearly, where she is deeply loved. She was instrumental in the current development of a new theatre at the Wolf School, working closely with school administration in conjunction with the designers and architects of the developing project. Her contributions to the theatre will be a lasting testament to her love of the arts. Jenna cherished both the students and the friendships, love, and support that she received from her colleagues and friends at the Wolf School.

In addition to her passion for the arts, Jenna loved music and attended countless live music performances with family and friends, including a great many performances by the bands Phish and Guster. Jenna enjoyed travel with her family immensely, most notably to Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. One of the most memorable trips she took was with her parents, husband, and her then 16-month-old son, Andrew, on a tour of Italy in 2016. It was the trip of a lifetime and one that created lasting memories for Jenna, her husband, and parents. An avid lover of baseball, she was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan (through thick and thin). Taking in innumerable ballgames throughout the years, of note was Jenna's attendance at the infamous 2004 ALCS Game 6 “bloody sock game” in the Bronx where the Red Sox defeated the Yankees, helping to secure a remarkable comeback series win to eliminate the Bronx Bombers in grand fashion, continuing on to victory as the 2004 World Series Champions. Jenna was a dedicated volunteer and beloved “Baseball Mom” with Rumford Little League and Andrew's travel ball teams. Jenna was also a dedicated volunteer and PTA Board Member at Orlo Avenue Elementary School, which she cherished as a beloved community with remarkable staff responsible for successfully fostering such core values as respect, responsibility, cooperation, and determination in scores of children over the years.

Jenna was a devoted wife and loving mom. She worked diligently to pass on the values instilled in her by her late grandparents and her parents, to her two cherished sons. Jenna will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she has touched and influenced over the past forty-five years.

In addition to her loving husband and parents, Jenna is survived by her two cherished sons, Andrew Joseph Mitchell (11) and Thomas Patrick Mitchell (8), for whom her love and adoration will live on forever; her godmother and beloved aunt, Susan Hosey of Barrington, Rhode Island; aunt and uncle, Judy and Jeff Jacobson of Sudbury, Massachusetts; cousins Jordan and Connor Jacobson; honorary mother-in-law and Nona to her sons, Leslie Colburn of Boston, Massachusetts; honorary brother-in-law and uncle to her sons, Marcus Masciarelli of Somerville, Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Bevin Mitchell of Madison, Wisconsin; brother-in-law JB Holmes of Palmetto, FL; aunt Christine Sipes of Pascoag, Rhode Island; cousins Lynn, Jamie, Lori, Joey, and Cheri, as well as many other family members, close friends, and cherished colleagues.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Albert and Helene Risho and Antonio and Filomena Silvestri; her uncles, Robert and Alan Risho, Kevin Hosey, Tim Sipes and Roland LeFort; her mother-in-law, Mary Ellen (Lange) Mitchell; father-in-law Stephen E. Mitchell; and sister-in-law, Caitlin (Mitchell) Holmes.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Requiem Eucharist on Saturday, September 12th at 11 a.m. directly at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 490 Broadway, Pawtucket. CALLING HOURS will be held on Friday, September 11th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
