Pawtucket – Janet A. (McCormick) Lavalley, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of James Lavalley for sixty-four loving years after having met at Waterman Lake, where Janet’s family had a summer home and Jim resided year-round. Born in Central Falls, she was the oldest of nine children of the late Charles and Alma (Bernier) McCormick. Janet graduated from Pawtucket West High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. She worked as a twister operator at Murdock Webbing for twenty years until her retirement. She was later employed at Cherry & Webb, where she worked in the warehouse and enjoyed lots of laughs with the ladies. Janet also worked at a Little Bit of Everything at their former locations on Armistice Boulevard, and then on Newport Avenue where she was the smiling face behind the register, always ready for a chat.
