Silva, 70, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, March 6, 2025.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Liberal and Veronica (Fitta) Silva.
Jim was a graduate of Bryant University and went on to a career as the warehouse supervisor at Nyman Manufacturing for many years.
He was a longtime communicant of St.
John Paul II Parish (St.
Cecilia Church) in Pawtucket, where he was actively involved in the parish.
He was a past grand knight for the St.
John Paul II Knights of Columbus Council #12613.
Jim was an active participant in many of the council’s events and parish ministries.
He enjoyed reading, following sports and spending time with family and friends.
Jim is survived by three siblings, Lois Kaplan of Burrillville, William Silva of East Providence and Robert Silva and his wife, Dawn, of East Providence; he also leaves many nieces and nephews and his godchildren, Danielle Mathieu, Dawn Marie Cochran, Nicole, Alyssa and Hannah Silva.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 12th at 10 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St.
Cecilia Church of St.
John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence.
VISITATION will be held on Tuesday, March 11th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to St.
John Paul II Parish would be appreciated.
