Pawtucket – James W. Fochler, Sr., 84, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, January 16, 2025. He was the beloved companion of Vivian L. Roe for forty-one years. Born in Middletown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Walter A. and Blanche (Hipple) Fochler. James was a United States Navy veteran and served aboard the USS Yosemite and the USS Wasp. He went on to work for many years at GTE (Osram-Sylvania) as a glass equipment mechanic. James was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and in his younger days enjoyed bowling in his company’s bowling league. He enjoyed playing golf, visiting Cape Cod and spending time with his family and friends. James will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he has touched over the past eighty-four years.
