Isaura M. Tome

Pawtucket – Isaura M. (Medeiros) Tome, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 surrounded by her family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jose D.

Born in Sao Miguel, Acores, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Cordeiro) De Medeiros.

Isaura immigrated to the United States twenty years ago and settled in Rhode Island with her family.

She was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland, for many years.

Isaura was active in the Grupo Amigos da Terceira, Pawtucket, and made lifelong friends within that community.

She was a social butterfly who loved surrounding herself with the younger generation, especially her children’s friends’, who she considered family.

Isaura was a talented seamstress and made all her children’s clothing by hand and specialized in making wedding gowns.

She enjoyed visiting La Salette, cooking her famous arroz doce and spending time with her beloved family.

She is survived by five loving children, Elvira Rodrigues, Joao Tome, Natalia Ferreira, Lidia Tome and Paula Labree; eleven grandchildren, Jeff, Steve, David, Danny, Dennis, Melinda, Sandy, Carina, Filipa, Liz and Leno; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Antonieta Santos and Maria Jose Costa and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was the sister of the late Joao Medeiros.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, beginning with visitation at 8:30 a.m. in WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Dr., Cumberland.

Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
