Pawtucket – Irene M. (Gagnon) Ambers, 95, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, November 16, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Ambers. Born in Attleboro, Irene was the daughter of the late Adelard, Sr. and Ethel (Morris) Gagnon.
Irene worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Larson Tool & Stamping until her retirement. Irene loved spending time with family and friends. She truly enjoyed her weekly luncheons and movies with her niece, Cynthia, weekly lunches and shopping with her daughter-in-law, Terry and Sundays cheering on the Patriots with her daughter, Carolyn.
Irene will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she has touched over the past ninety-five years.
Irene leaves two children, Carolyn Dykas of Pawtucket, and James Ambers and his wife, Terry, of Winter Haven, FL; five grandchildren, Robin Lefebvre and her husband, Julien, of Sebego, ME, Timothy Dykas and his wife, Santana, of Cranston, Bud Dykas of Smithfield, and Bridget Ambers Armstrong and her husband, Andrew, of Agawam, MA, and Casey Ambers of Winter Haven, FL; a great-grandson, Brody Dykas; a sister, Doris Gagnon, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Adelard Gagnon, Jr., and Edna Walton.
