Ilene J. Brown

Myers, FL – Ilene J. (Fortin) Brown, 82, a lifelong resident of Seekonk, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 in Ft.

She was the beloved wife of Allen E.

Brown, Sr. for 59 years.

Born in Attleboro, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Exelia (Gouyette) Fortin.

Ilene worked for the Seekonk Police Department for 25 years under four police chiefs retiring in 1997.

She was a member of various civil committees and booster clubs in Seekonk.

Ilene was a gymnast in her early years and participated in water aerobics for many years, she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, camping, and winters in Florida.

Besides her loving husband.

Ilene leaves four sons, Stephen D.

Brown and his wife, Rose of Rehoboth, Douglas A.

Brown and his wife, Eileen of Seekonk, Thomas W.

Brown and his wife, Lynda of Rehoboth and Allen E.

Brown, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Rehoboth; fifteen grandchildren, Jennifer (Brown) Majewski, Douglas, Jr., Adam, Holly (Brown) Cartin, Chelsea, Kelly, Mitchell, Thomas, Madaline, Samuel, Genevieve and Ava Brown, Cassie, Joseph and Jacob Teixeira; a great-granddaughter Morgan Majewski, and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Raymond and Donald Fortin, Rita Paquin, Beatrice Dargis, Theresa Teixeira and Claire Dean.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish, Coyle Dr., Seekonk.

Interment will follow at Seekonk Cemetery.

VISITATION will be Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m.
