Ila R. Fullerton

Swansea – Ila R. (Smithies) Fullerton, 74, passed away at home on Monday, March 16, 2015. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth N. Fullerton for 47 years. Born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth C. (Nyberg) Smithies, she resided in East Providence before moving to Swansea in 1977. Ila was a 1958 graduate of Barrington High School and a 1962 graduate of the University of Rhode Island. She was a fourth grade teacher at the Hathaway Elementary School, Portsmouth, RI for 40 years until retiring in 2002. Ila was a member of the National Education Association and of Queen Esther Chapter No. 2, Order of the Eastern Star, Pawtucket. Services will be private.
